Bulgaria invites Rosatom experts to discuss Belene nuke project
MOSCOW, Aug 9 (PRIME) -- Bulgaria’s Energy Ministry has invited experts of Russian nuclear power corporation Rosatom to discuss details of resuming a project to build the Belene nuclear power plant, the ministry said on its Web site on Tuesday.
“Minister Temenuzhka Petkova has sent a letter to Rosatom CEO Sergei Kiriyenko to define the membership of a working group connected with the Belene project,” the ministry said.
The ministry has invited Rosatom’s experts to visit the country in the period from August 15 till August 30.
Rosatom’s unit Atomstoroyexport won a tender to build the Belene nuclear plant in 2008, but the project was frozen in 2009 after changes in the Bulgarian government.
